By accessing or using our Service, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use our Service.
Table of Contents

By accessing or using MyPetCal, you confirm that you:
- Are at least 18 years old, or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, or have obtained parental consent to use the Service.
- Have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you are using the Service on behalf of a company or organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

The Service is provided for informational and organizational purposes only and should not be considered a substitute for professional veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
3. Data Sources & Databases
MyPetCal maintains several proprietary and third-party-sourced databases to power the features of our Service. We are committed to transparency about where our data comes from and how it is used.
Breed & Nutrition Database
Our breed database has been independently researched and compiled by the MyPetCal team based on information from established, authoritative breed registries, including but not limited to:
- AKC — American Kennel Club
- FCI — Fédération Cynologique Internationale
- CFA — Cat Fanciers' Association
- TICA — The International Cat Association
The breed profiles, physical characteristics, temperament information, and breed-specific nutritional guidance in our database reflect our own curated research drawn from these registries. This database is not AI-generated. It represents dedicated manual research and curation by our team to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Pet Food & Product Nutrition Database
Product nutrition data and food labels available in MyPetCal are sourced from established open nutrition databases, including:
- Open Food Facts — an open, community-driven food product database
- FatSecret — a comprehensive food and nutrition database
This data is not AI-generated. Nutrition labels, ingredient lists, and product information reflect data sourced directly from these third-party databases. While we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee that all product data is complete, current, or error-free, as this data originates from third-party sources. Always cross-reference with the product's official packaging for critical dietary decisions.
AI-Generated Content (Recipes & Tips)
Pet recipes, feeding tips, and personalised meal suggestions within the Service may be a combination of:
- Content generated using artificial intelligence (AI) based on our nutrition database, and
- Curated recommendations drawn from our proprietary breed and nutrition research.
Where AI is involved in generating content, it draws on the structured data in our database rather than producing purely ungrounded output. However, AI-generated content may still contain errors or may not be appropriate for every individual pet. Always consult a qualified veterinarian before making significant changes to your pet's diet or health routine.
Personalisation Through Your Data (RAG Model)
MyPetCal uses a proprietary AI personalisation system built on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technology. This means that the data you log within the app — including meal entries, portion sizes, health notes, weight records, and activity logs — is used to build a contextual profile for each of your pets.
The more consistently you log information about your pet, the more personalised the tips, meal recommendations, and recipes generated by the Service become. Over time, the AI draws on your pet's specific history rather than relying solely on general breed or nutrition data, resulting in suggestions that are increasingly tailored to your individual pet's needs and preferences.
By using the Service and logging data, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Your logged pet data (meal logs, health notes, activity entries, and similar inputs) is used to personalise AI-generated recommendations within your account.
- This data is processed to improve the relevance and accuracy of content served to you personally. It is not used to train general AI models shared across unrelated users.
- You can delete your account and all associated data at any time as described in Section 7. Deletion will remove your pet's personalisation history.
Personalised recommendations are still AI-generated and remain subject to the same limitations described above. They do not constitute veterinary advice. Always consult a qualified veterinarian before making significant changes to your pet's diet or health routine.
Accuracy & Limitations
While we take care to maintain accurate and up-to-date information across all our databases, MyPetCal makes no warranties regarding the completeness or accuracy of data sourced from third parties. Data from Open Food Facts, FatSecret, and breed registries may be updated independently of our Service. We are not responsible for inaccuracies originating from these external sources.

11. Medical, Recipes, and Nutrition Disclaimer
Informational Purposes Only
All medical advice, recipes, nutrition tips, AI-generated recommendations, or other pet-related information provided through the Service are for informational purposes only. This content is not intended to be a substitute for professional veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of a qualified veterinarian with any questions about your pet's health, diet, or medical condition.
No Veterinary-Client Relationship
Your use of the Service does not create a veterinary-client relationship. The information provided is general in nature and may not apply to your pet's specific needs.
AI-Generated Content
Some features of MyPetCal use artificial intelligence to generate meal plans, recipes, nutrition recommendations, and breed analysis. AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. You should always verify AI-generated recommendations with a qualified veterinary professional before implementing them.
Where AI is used, it draws on our curated breed and nutrition database (sourced from established registries and open nutrition databases as described in Section 3) to inform its output. This means AI-generated content is grounded in structured, researched data — but it remains general in nature and may not account for your individual pet's unique health circumstances.
Recipes and Nutrition Information
Recipes and nutrition recommendations may be a combination of AI-generated suggestions and content drawn from our proprietary nutrition database. They are general in nature and may not be suitable for all pets. Each pet has unique dietary needs depending on breed, age, size, health conditions, and activity level. Consult your veterinarian before implementing dietary changes.
Liability Disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MyPetCal disclaims all liability for any damages arising from your reliance on medical, nutritional, or AI-generated information provided through the Service.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. You may delete your account and data as described in Section 7. Any provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.
15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law principles. You agree that the exclusive jurisdiction and venue for any disputes arising from or related to these Terms shall be the state or federal courts located in New Castle County, Delaware (Wilmington).
